A Stay at All-Star Movies Resort in Walt Disney World

To Infinity and Beyond! Toy Story fans like me will love staying in the Toy Story building at All Star Movies!

My sons and I took a dream trip to Disney World last month! We flew to Orlando and stayed at one of the WDW Resort Hotels, All-Star Movies. We went to all four theme parks- Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. There are over twenty Disney hotels to choose from in the Disney bubble. There's also two water parks and Disney Springs, the shopping and dining district. We stayed for six nights at All-Star Movies Resort. We covered a lot of ground at WDW! We had an amazing time and yes, it was definitely magical!

In this first WDW post, I'll talk about where we stayed and feature lots of photos around the resort hotel. In the next post, I'll be showing all the food and drinks during our stay at the resort.

All-Star Movies is a budget hotel and the cheapest resort within the Walt Disney World bubble. It's one of three All-Star hotels. Close to this resort is All-Star Music and All-Star Sports. The theming of All-Star Movies is classic Disney Movies. Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, Mighty Ducks, and The Love Bug are all featured in larger-than-life structures all over the resort. We got lucky and got to stay in the Toy Story area, which are my favorite Disney movies. I absolutely loved the theming and how many photo opportunities there were. It felt like we took photos every time we walked by the structures!

One of the draws when staying at a WDW resort is the free transportation to the parks and Disney Springs. Our hotel had buses that ran about every fifteen minutes back and forth. We never waited more than that for a bus. The resorts don't share buses with any other resort. We had no issues with the bus system. The staff at Disney in general is wonderful throughout the parks and resorts. Upon checking in the first night, we were congratulated and all three of us received a first-time pin! Such a magical touch and neat keepsake. We also each received a key card for our room that also got us into the parks each day.

For being the cheapest hotel at WDW, I was impressed by everything. The room was a nice size, with Disney theming on the headboards. The rooms are all standard room at this resort, with one Queen bed and a table that easily folds down into another bed. The bathroom is a good size, with a separate room for the bathtub and toilet. We were on the second floor. There are three floors total and there are elevators. The rooms open up from the outside, motel style, but that didn't bother me at all.

I paid about $20 more a night for a Premiere room which meant we were closer to the lobby and food court. I paid around $250 a night which isn't bad at all considering all of the resort's amenities and the free bus service to the parks. This was also during a busy week since we stayed during President's Day week. These room go down to $180 or so during the slow times.

There are two pools, but the main one, the Fantasia pool, was under construction. We were able to use the other pool, the Mighty Ducks pool, a couple of times. At Disney they heat the pool to a warm 83 degrees in the winter. There's also a pool bar, which I'll talk about more in my next resort food post. We ended up really enjoying the food court and had breakfast there almost every morning, ate dinner there the first night, and two lunches there. It was super convenient, especially using mobile ordering. There's also an arcade, playground, and gift shop. We had time on our rest day, the one day we didn't go to the parks, to enjoy these amenities.

The lobby is good sized, and here you'll also find guest services, where you can leave your luggage before or after checking out. In the Disney resort lobby's, they always have a tv playing a Disney movie, too!

They have a great gift shop, where we definitely did some damage and found some good things!

Such cute Disney theming on the beds in our room! I'm sitting on the bed that folds down from the table. This bed also was a Queen sized, I believe.

These hooks in our room were the perfect spot to hang my ears!

This "Hey Disney" voice assistant is located in each Disney resort room. You can use it to tell jokes, do Disney trivia, ask questions, and even get wake up calls.

The arcade at our resort.

The food court which I'll write more about in my next post.

One of the Disney buses. It was so easy to navigate the bus system at our resort and at the parks.

The pool bar at our resort.

This is the Mighty Ducks pool. This pool was pretty big and there was always a lifeguard there.

At night, they even play Disney movies outside. They were playing Elemental the night we arrived.

We loved this huge 101 Dalmatians statue.

Walking into "Andy's Room", into the Toy Story area! Our room was just a few steps to the left and up one floor. We stayed in the building next to the giant Buzz Lightyear.

A larger-than-life Woody! So fun!

On our last day after checking out, we had some time to walk around the rest of the resort. We got to see the Fantasia area and The Love Bug area!

Thanks for checking out my All-Star Movies post! Stay tuned for my next blog post where I'll show the food and drinks around the resort!
