Dinner at Pike Place Market Bar and Grill
The iconic view from our table at Pike Place Market Bar and Grill.
Is Pike Place Market Bar and Grill an under rated dining spot in the market? Can you find mouthwatering brownies in the market? We explored Pike Place Market to find out! We love this Seattle institution and feel fortunate to have something of its caliber a few miles away. Open since 1907, Pike Place Market is a food lover's dream, and we'll never tire of exploring it.
First up on our latest visit was to grab something sweet at Pike Place Bakery. The options felt limitless, and it was a challenge to narrow down our choice of dessert. But once I spotted the brownies, I knew I had to try one. Ranging from Cream Cheese, German Chocolate, Mint, to Fudge, and finally Peanut Butter, I chose the Peanut Butter. The brownie was a nice sized piece, just right for having a little and saving it for later. It was rich, of course, and fudgy, with a decent amount of peanut butter on top. Chocolate and Peanut Butter is a classic combo I can never get enough of.
Our family wanted to try a new to us restaurant, so we decided on Pike Place Market Bar and Grill. First off, the view overlooking the classic market sign? So lovely. And watching the sky, the sign, and the building around it change from day to night? Also, so lovely. The only thing that would make it even better? A Margarita flight, of course. My flight came with a Classic Marg, a Prickly Pear Marg, and a Spicy Mango Margarita. My favorite was the Prickly Pear, and my least was the Spicy Mango.
My husband enjoyed a blue drink called a Blue Seattle. This drink had light rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, simple syrup, and a lemon-lime mix. We shared two appetizers- the Salmon Dip with Cristini and the Jalapeño Poppers. Both were solid dishes, but they tasted even better because of the view and the drinks. They also have a kid's menu, so our sons each chose a dish from there. It was a few bucks cheaper than the regular menu. The Mac and Cheese was ultra cheesy, if not a little under seasoned. The Chicken Strips and fries were delicious, some of the top Chicken Strips we've had.
So, is Pike Place Market Bar and Grill under rated? I'd have to say yes! The Margarita Flight and other fun cocktail options make this spot in the market a good choice! And that view of the market sign is the best!
Since I had my Nikon camera, I couldn't help taking some photos around the market. The lighting was gorgeous, and I have a thing for a midnight blue sky. I was able to capture some images from new angles, and that was a win for me.
