Exploring Seattle's Waterfront, Pike Place Market, and Happy Hour at The Alibi Room

New Seattle views! I shot this from the newly opened Overlook Walk, which connects the waterfront to Pike Place Market.

We checked out more of the new expansion on the waterfront, mostly around the Seattle Aquarium. My family and I walked along the waterfront which was around sunset, and the views were so pretty. They made the coolest thing at the aquarium entrance where you can look up and see the fish swimming around. Then around the corner is a sweeping staircase, with views of Elliot Bay, that lead up to Pike Place Market.

You can see views of downtown and the Seattle Great Wheel. I took a ton of photos, because the lighting was giving. Then we walked to the iconic and infamous Gum Wall, which was recently cleaned so there wasn't much gum, to have happy hour at The Alibi Room. There's a doorway in the middle of the Gum Wall that leads to the restaurant. We'd never eaten there, but they've been open since 1994.

They serve brick oven pizzas, salads, and they have a full bar. This spot at Pike Place Market is a hidden gem. Their happy hour menu is so reasonable, especially for this area. The mini pizzas are only $10 and you can get a glass of red wine for just $5. I had both of these deals. I chose a pepperoni pizza and the size was pretty big for a personal one. The house red was also tasty and a decent-sized pour. The pizza had the perfect crust, it was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of ooey gooey cheese. Their ranch is great, don't forget to order a side to dip your pizza in!

The rest of the family also had the happy hour sized pizzas and both of my sons actually polished theirs off. They loved this pizza. The inside of the restaurant is dark and feels rustic, not unlike other spots in the market. The restrooms are on the older side and their website claims a few ghosts haunt this place. I could maybe feel one or two spirits down in the restroom area. This building is from 1907 when the market was first built, so you never know!

This was such a fun late afternoon, early evening out in Seattle!
