Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Five spots for Soft Serve in Seattle | Part 6

It's the week of Halloween and some may say it's no longer ice cream season. But around here, we love ice cream, and we love it year around! And the best part about ice cream when the weather is chilly? The frozen treat doesn't melt nearly as fast. If you read my blog here, you know I adore Soft Serve. The presentation is top notch, but most importantly, I really enjoy the soft texture.

It's been a year since I did one of my Soft Serve in Seattle posts, and this is my 6th one! I remember when Seattle hardly had any spots with my favorite style of ice cream, and now there's tons. Of course, you can always find Soft Serve at fast food spots, but I like to support local Seattle spots and try their unique flavors!

Here are five more Seattle spots for soft serve I tried the past year.

Hellenika Cultured Creamery

Hellenika Cultured Creamery is located in Pike Place Market. This frozen dessert is a mix between soft serve and frozen yogurt. They have many flavors to choose from and you're welcome to sample them. We picked the Pumpkin Pie flavor, and it tasted just like Thanksgiving, but in ice cream form. Read my original post here from Hellenika Cultured Creamery.

Xing Fu Tang

Xing Fu Tang in downtown Seattle has solid Boba Tea and yummy Brown Sugar Boba Tea Soft Serve. I didn't get mine with Tapioca Pearls, but you definitely can!

Tip Top Ice Cream

Tip Top Ice Cream serves New Zealand style ice cream with a NW twist! They're located in the Highland Park Corner Store in West Seattle. Pictured is the Strawberry with chocolate sprinkles. Check out my original post here to read more about Tip Top Ice Cream.

Hi Life

This spot isn't in Seattle, but is just a short ferry ride away in Bainbridge Island. If you've never tried Hi Life by the ferry terminal, then you should. They have savory items like Spam Musubi, but don't sleep on their soft serve. The day I visited this summer they had a Yuzu syrup. This was my first time trying yuzu and my world was changed. This bright citrus flavor was both delicate and paired so well with the ultra-creamy vanilla soft serve. And the day was really hot, so this treat really hit! Check out my blog post here from our day trip to Bainbridge Island.

LeTao

Over in Bellevue is LeTao, located inside the Bravern. They not only have Japanese cheesecakes, but they have soft serve. Avoid the plain, and overpriced soft serve, and order a sundae. I tried the Mont Blanc one, and it was on the small and pricey side, but was still cool to try something so unique. Check out my post here

That's all five spots for now! Thanks for reading!

Have you checked out any of these spots in the Seattle area? Where is your favorite spot for soft serve in the area you live?
