Checking out the new Overlook Walk in Seattle
Slides for the kiddos at the brand-new Overlook Walk in Seattle.
Yesterday we went to downtown Seattle to see the just opened Overlook Walk. This walkable area connects Pike Place Market to the waterfront and has been an ongoing project since 2022. There were crowds of people there, all excited to see the striking views of Elliot Bay, the city, the Seattle Great Wheel, and more from this new vantage point. I was impressed with how sweeping the Seattle views were and how large the new area is. We came a little bit after mayor Bruce Harrell gave a speech and they did a ribbon cutting.
I only saw about half of the Overlook Walk area, but I'll be back later to check out more. They have some slides for kids, which is a great addition to this area. They recently finished the new addition to the aquarium, and it looks like a new observation area on top of the building for even more views of Seattle. On the pier next to the aquarium, they're also building another kid's area with a huge slide and even a skate park. That area looks almost complete, too.
The vibes were high, with a feeling of hope and optimism in the crowd. Us locals are pumped about Seattle's growth and having more nice spots to hang out!
