Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

September Eats and Drinks

Today is the last day of September, so that means I'm sharing some eats and drinks from the month I didn't yet blog about. September was back to school, my twin boys' birthday, and a special two-night camp with their 5th grade class to Gig Harbor where I was a chaperone!

The day before school started, we went out for drinks and chips and salsa at Paseo in SODO. They have the best cocktails! This time my husband's Pain Killer arrived in an adorable fish glass. I had a yummy Prickly Pear Margarita. Their chips and salsa are really notable and should not be missed either!

Starbucks released their fall drinks and this year they introduced the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. This is a really creamy iced coffee and definitely tastes like fall! If you like chai and pumpkin together, this drink is for you.

One store we like to go to on special occasions is World Market. They have oodles of candy options from all the world. This imported chocolate is hard to find here in the states. I always like getting a Milka Bar, or two! This time I tried a Cherry Creme one and it was amazing.

Speaking of chocolate, if you've never tried a Tony's Chocolate Bar, I highly recommend! I saw someone on YouTube try one and it looked so good. When I spotted them at my local Safeway, I bought one right away. I tried the Salted Carmel Sea Salt one and I was blown away by the flavor and how thick the bar was! I took it with me on our class camping trip to Gig Harbor.

In September we ate at Tutta Bella. We love their authentic Neapolitan pizza. They also have solid cocktails and a decent happy hour menu. I tried their pepperoni pizza this time. It was only $10 on the HH menu!
