Lunch at Alki Beach at Lotus On The Beach

The signature cocktail, U-Babe from Lotus On The Beach, features Ube, coconut, and booze. I can't remember what kind, but this drink tasted like an Ube Milk Tea cocktail. More of a dessert, but I'm not complaining!

Since our boys were invited to a birthday party at Alki Beach, my husband and I took the opportunity to have a nice lunch at Lotus On The Beach. This is a new Asian Fusion spot with views of Alki Beach. Most notably, they have a huge custom cocktail menu. It was hard to choose just one, so we each tried two drinks!

I love when restaurants have signature cocktail menus. They inspire me to try something new and unique. When visiting spots without one, it's hard to rack my brain and pick some boring cocktail I've been drinking since I turned 21. The first drink I picked was the U-Babe one. This pretty purple cocktail looked like a dessert. It came topped with whipped cream and consisted of ube, coconut, booze of some sort, and probably more things I can't remember since I didn't take a photo of the menu. This cocktail went down quickly, and it was hard to taste any alcohol in it. All in all, a delightful drink that paired well with our food, too.

My husband's first drink was the Haka Matata. This boozy and beach-inspired drink featured Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. It also went down easy for him and paired well with our lunch. To eat we shared an appetizer and an entree. We first tried the Chicken Wings with Tamarind. These were pretty standard wings that didn't blow us away but satisfied our craving for wings. Our entree was the Chicken Pad Thai which we ordered with three stars. With zero being no spice and five being really hot. The three starts ended up being pretty spicy. Bring the heat! Our lips were burning, but the heat improved the dish and brought it up a notch. I usually order my Phad Thai with only one star, but I think two stars would be just right.

For our second round of drinks, I decided to go with an Espresso Martini. Their version is called an 808 Coffee Martini and was probably the best and most smooth Espresso Martini we've tried. His second cocktail was the Lynda's Lychee-Rita. This cocktail featured Tequila and Lychee Liquor and came with two Lychee gummy garnishes. This drink was fruity and was full of Lychee flavor. All of the cocktails were made by the bar manager, Mr. Tan, who delivered our drinks with a huge smile. Our server was also sweet, and the service was great.

This is such a solid location for this spot, and the view of the beach was nice! I was wowed by the cocktails and was really happy with the food we ordered, too.
