Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

The summer is wrapping up, but boba tea and iced coffee are always a good idea, even if the weather is chillier. Below are eight spots to get a solid cold beverage in Seattle!

In downtown Bellevue, you'll find The Whale Tea. I tried the Blue Crystal Drink which had coconut milk and blue jelly. You can read my original post right here

Up next is Xing Fu Tang in downtown Seattle. They're known for their bubble tea milk with brown sugar. When I first visited around when they opened, a couple of years ago, I tried the Brown Sugar Sugar Boba Milk with Dalgona Coffee. Everyone remembers the Dalgona Coffee hype back in 2020 when we were all making it at home. You can see my original post from Xing Fu Tang here

Near the Space Needle, you'll find a Boba Tea and Mochi Shop. DIY Tea Lab and Milkvue are serving up some yummy drinks and Mochi Donuts. I tried a Strawberry Milk Tea with Tapioca and it was refreshing and fruity. See that post here

The Ube and Lemon Curd Boba Tea from the Seattle pop-up Yoka Tea. I loved the unique flavors of this drink and thought the Ube and Lemon Curd went together beautifully. Check out my post here about this local pop-up.

The Milo Milk Tea from Neighborhood Cafe in Tukwila. This cafe Filipino-fusion spot has amazing brunch eats along with unique coffee and tea options. My milk tea was so cute and was even topped with marshmallow cream and served with a little shovel to use as a spoon! See my post here from our yummy lunch.

In Woodinville you'll find the cutest coffee drive-thru, Grounds Coffee Co. Their coffee and lemonades are topped with sweet and colorful desserts and candy, depending on which holiday it is or which coffee you get. I went with a peanut butter iced coffee that also had chocolate and whipped cream and was topped with chocolate chip cookie. You can see my post about it here

An Iced Pistachio Mocha from the pretty and pink Lula Coffee Co. in Seattle. See my post here

Last, we have The Alley, which opened this summer in Seattle's Chinatown. I loved how good this boba drink was! The Ube was so creamy, the tapioca was the perfect consistency, and I liked how big the drink was! This was the Ube Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brulee Milk. See my post here
