Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

A SpongeBob Birthday Party for my 11 Year Old Twins

My sons turned eleven and we threw a birthday party for them at our house. They had seven friends come over and they had a blast! We did a SpongeBob SquarePants theme with a cake that said 11 years later. On the SpongeBob show they always use a funny voice when time passes and will say two years later, for example! We also had some other decorations like lots of yellow balloons, a photo wall with the characters, and paper pineapples!

We also had a SpongeBob pinata that we filled with candy, along with some Krabby Paddies! These are gummy burgers themed from the show. I bought four bags at the dollar store and added two to the pinata. The other two bags I put inside my SpongeBob glasses I already had. The kids had a lot of fun hitting the pinata outside in the yard. We also had an amp and a microphone and some of the kids sang karaoke. My son organized a couple of games such as Musical Chairs which they loved. To eat, we had Domino's Pizza delivered after everyone arrived.

Kids always love these gummy Krabby Patties!

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob SquarePants!

I decorated with these hanging paper spirals with the SpongeBob characters. I bought these, along with the pineapples, on Amazon. I took a photo of each guest, then I texted it to their parents after the party!

This was a chocolate cake with chocolate filling from Safeway. They did a great job!

The days are long, but the years are short! Eleven years with my sons has gone by quick!
