August Eats and Drinks | At home and vacation version

Here it is the last day of August! It's Labor Day weekend, and yesterday I had a blast at the WA State Fair. The month of August felt long, since we did a road trip to MT. This month's eats and drinks wrap- up features places from here in Seattle and a few from my trip that didn't make it into my other posts.

At the beginning of the month, I had coffee and pastries with a friend at the Flora Bakehouse in Beacon Hill. Don't sleep on their vegan Cinnamon Rolls. They're huge and have a nice layer of cream cheese frosting. We shared this bun and it was still too much for me. That may be because we also shared an Ube Bun. This colorful pastry had a rich ube filling. Highly recommend!

In July I tried the brand-new Paris Baguette in Tukwila. Lots of good pastries, so little time. Not the most amazing, and a little spendy, but fun to try anyway. My son begged to go again this month, and this time I tried one of their coffee drinks. My husband and I shared this Caramel Frappe, and it was definitely a solid coffee, but basically a dessert.

One of our favorite spots to eat in Tukwila is Moctezuma's at Westfield Southcenter. My hubby and I shared this giant Margarita. They have some of the best Mexican eats and cocktails in the area!

One warm August day I was craving soft serve, so I walked over to the Flora Bakehouse again and treated myself to their signature sundae they had. This was a Raspberry Lime Sundae which was a Raspberry Dole Whip with lime curd, graham cracker crumbs, raspberries, and whipped cream. It was delightful and so refreshing for summer!

One Saturday afternoon we tried Fainting Goat Gelato in Madison Park. I had the Salted Caramel in a sugar cone. It was alright gelato, and the customer service was lacking, but I got to try yet another Seattle ice cream.

During my MT trip, my sister-in-law and I went out for dessert at Uptown Hearth in Columbia Falls. I had an enjoyable slice of cheesecake with a berry sauce. It was better later in the day after being in the fridge longer.

My sister-in-law made these excellent chocolate chip cookies. These were seriously some of the best cookies I've had. I didn't even know she liked to bake, so I was happily surprised. And I'll probably be asking her to make some more next time I'm in Montana.

One night on our trip, we did a campfire and had S'mores. This year I bought some Tate's cookies and used those instead of the traditional graham cracker. I skipped the chocolate and added my roasted marshmallow. Game changer!

One morning for breakfast, my mom made us French Toast with some leftover baguette we'd bought.
I added some fresh huckleberries, and it was so tasty!

When we went to the Whitefish City Beach with my mom and aunt, my aunt treated us to some ice cream. I chose Huckleberry. It was as good as it looks!
