A Seattle Weekend In July
There's just something about a July weekend in Seattle. We live for the summers here, and it's a time when the city shines. There's really no excuse for not getting outside and getting some rays and fresh air. One place we like to go outside and enjoy the sun and the longer days is Discovery Park, in Magnolia.
There are multiple parking lots, one being the main entrance by the visitor center and the playground, and the other is closer to the beach. Our family usualy parks in the main lot and does the complete hike to the beach. This hike takes about an hour or so. This time we parked in the other lot and hiked about forty minutes to the beach. It still took us about two hours to hike both ways and then hang out on the beach.
The tide was low, so I got some different views from our last visit when the tide was higher. I also always like taking photos of the lighthouse. I took a cool panoramic shot on my phone that I really like. This hike is a little difficult going back up, because there's so many stairs.
We were really hungry after we reached the car, so we drove to downtown Seattle and had dinner at Vons 1000 Spirits. It was super busy, but we didn't have to wait long. I enjoyed one of their awesome Sourdough Flatbreads. This time I had the Lì'l Pep one, a spicy pizza with hot honey and pepperoni. It hit the spot after being at Discovery Park.
