Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

May the 4th be with you | Princess Cinnabuns Sundae from the Flora Bakehouse

The Princess Cinnabuns Sundae from The Flora Bakehouse!

This themed Star Wars sundae has vanilla soft serve, salted caramel, whipped cream, cinnamon, and has two small house-made cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls resemble Princess Leia's hair in the famous movies! I love a good, themed dessert.

Today is May 4th, which is Star Wars Day. I think Baby Yoda approves of this sundae, don't you?

Since today is May 4th, my local bakeshop, The Flora Bakehouse, is featuring two themed Star Wars treats. I couldn't resist walking in the rain a couple of blocks and getting my own Princess Cinnabuns Sundae. It looked just too cute and fun. Not only was it cool to look at, but the sundae tasted incredible. Their soft serve is so smooth, and their salted caramel sauce is one to write home about. The small cinnamon rolls were so fresh and tasty, and I couldn't help myself from dipping one in the ice cream. I did share this with my family, and they loved it too!

They're also selling a Skywalker Float with soft serve, blue raspberry syrup, and soda water. And they have bread called Doughbi-Wan-Kenobi which features a special rebellion symbol. The Flora Bakehouse worked hard on these original, themed items, and we're here for it!

I couldn't let Baby Yoda miss out on the fun! He posed with my sundae and then I took photos of our other Baby Yoda, this one much bigger. My sons bought them in Disneyland last year. The themed Star Wars land, Galaxy's Edge takes fans right into the action. This is the place to be if you're a Star Wars fanatic or even if you're never seen the films. May the 4th be with you!
