Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Lunch at Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken in Sodo

A Chicken Sando from Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken in Seattle.

If you're always on the hunt for really good chicken sandwiches, look no further than Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken in Seattle's Sodo area. The Chicken Sandos are huge and you'll definitely be full after polishing off one with some crispy waffle fries and a can of soda. Now that's a lunch I can get behind.

We tried the Combo 1 which is a Chicken Sando with fries and a drink. You can choose what level of heat to go with, and we chose Mild. We probably could have stepped it up to Medium, but we felt like playing it safe during this Wednesday lunch. The Mild was just a little bit of heat to remind you it's there. The heat levels go all of the way to Angry Hot, and that was a no for us.

With these sandwiches, the chicken is so big, you'll be eating a fair amount of the tender and flavorful chicken before you even reach the fluffy bun. Then you'll arrive at the bun and be greeted with fresh lettuce, pickles, and the Hangry Joe's sauce. Be sure to dip your tasty waffle fries in that sauce, you won't regret it. This Chicken Sando was fun to try just because the sheer size of the chicken. Their sandwiches tasted really fresh, and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
