Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Trying Stevie's Famous Pizza in Beacon Hill

A slice of Pepperoni Pizza from Stevie's Famous at their new spot on Beacon Hill, inside Clock Out Lounge!

Since pizza is my favorite food I'm always on the lookout for new spots, or even tried and true places I've never been. Stevie's Famous Pizza is a popular place to grab whole pies or slices. Their first location is in Burien, and they just opened a second in Beacon Hill last month inside Clock Out Lounge.

Their pizzas use naturally leavened dough, WA flours, and organic tomatoes. We ordered two whole pies, a cheese, and a pepperoni. They were made quickly and were hot and fresh! They seemed a little on the saucy side, and the crust was a little chewier than we prefer. Our family loves a really thin and cheesy pie, that you can fold, like true New York style.

We also tried some cocktails from the bar side, Clock Out Lounge. My husband had a Manhattan, while I had a Strawberry Coconut Margarita Jello Shot and a Paloma. The Jello Shot was a slay, and my fav part of the meal. It tasted nice and sweet and was a fun touch.

A Manhattan cocktail from Clock Out Lounge.

A Palmera drink which has tequila, soda, and lime.

My yummy Jello Shot.
