Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Dinner at Castilla Restaurant and Tapas Bar in Bellevue

A Flatbread with beef steak, grapes, and arugula from Castilla.

Since our family enjoys eating Spanish food, especially tapas, we decided to check out Castilla in Bellevue for dinner. Their menu features a wide assortment of Spanish cuisine and there's something for everyone in your party. They also have a full bar, so we tried a couple of the drinks. My husband ordered a Sazerac which has sherry, rye whiskey, absinthe, and bitters. I enjoyed some Sangria with red wine. Then we ended up sharing a Winter's Mente which had rum, coconut cream, mint, and raspberry. It was tasty, but pretty tart.

They have a kid's menu, so our boys each had some Macaroni and Cheese. We also ordered some bread which came with a wonderful Garlic Aioli. My husband and I shared a Flatbread which was topped with beef steak, grapes, and arugula. Their flatbreads are on the smaller side, so we also got some Patatas Bravas which had a Bravas sauce, a spicy red sauce. Everything tasted delicious and the service was also great. This is a solid option at Bellevue Square if you want a nice meal.

A glass of Sangria.

An order of the Patatas Bravas.

This Mac and Cheese was fire!

Our Flatbread tasted fresh and hit the spot!

This bread and garlic aioli was also amazing.

This pretty drink is the Winter's Mente.

Me, enjoying the Winter's Mente!

We wanted something sweet, so we went inside the mall to Trophy Cupcakes. They recently opened a location at Bellevue Square. I treated myself to a Salted Caramel cupcake!
