Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

A Visit to Milkvue for Boba and Mochi Donuts

A Vanilla Bean Mochi Donut from Milkvue!

Did you know there's a spot near the Space Needle that sells Boba Tea and Mochi Donuts? Well, now you do! Stop into Milkvue/ Diy Tea Lab, and get yourself a yummy snack. Their mochi donuts are handcrafted and oh so fresh. When I visited, they only had one flavor left, the Vanilla Bean. Luckily it tasted amazing and I felt sort of lucky they weren't sold out altogether. The frosting on top was perfectly sweet and the cute snowflake sprinkles were a nice touch. The donuts were soft, tender, and tasted just like a mochi donut should.

Milkvue has a collaboration with Diy Tea Lab, another local Seattle boba spot. So you can pair your donuts with a yummy boba tea! I tried a Strawberry Milk Tea with tapioca. The milk was very filling, and the tapioca balls had the perfect texture. I also really enjoyed the strawberry flavor.

If you're planning on walking around Seattle Center, this is a great spot to visit first. Then you can enjoy some Boba Tea while you're walking around! I highly recommend checking out this spot if you're in the area, especially if you like Mochi Donuts!
