Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Exploring the Seattle Asian Art Museum and the Seattle Art Museum

The Hokusai exhibition from the Museum of Fine Arts Boston is currently on display at the Seattle Art Museum.

This week I had the chance to visit both the Asian Art Museum and the Seattle Art Museum. My son had a field trip to the Asian Art Museum, and I was a chaperone. This was my second time visiting this special museum, which is located in lush Volunteer Park near Cap Hill. The art is housed in a 1933 Art Deco building.

Then I took my other son to the Seattle Art Museum in downtown. We checked out the new Hokusai exhibition. This Japanese artist from the 1800's has over 200 works which are housed in Boston at the Museum of Fine Arts. They are here in Seattle until January. His most famous painting is the Great Wave, which most people recognize. The exhibit had a huge Lego version of the wave on display, which we loved.
