Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Dinner at Nosh Eatery

A Cheese Plate from Nosh Eatery with a Smokey Bleu Cheese, crackers, almonds, grapes, and a pesto for the crackers.

On our last night in Florence, we ate dinner at Nosh Eatery. They're located in Old Town Florence and serve classic comfort food that is scratch made. They have seasonal menus that highlight the local fare. And they offer something for everyone- vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores. They also have some gluten-free and dairy-free options.

Since they don't currently take reservations, we arrived right before 5:00. What can I say? When you have kids, you just eat dinner earlier. We got seated right away, by a friendly server. At Nosh they have a lot of small, sharable plates. We started with cocktails. My husband had the Dark Cherry Bourbon Renewal and I had the PB&J drink. This drink is made with Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey. My cocktail was unique and delicious. I could easily taste the peanut butter and jelly, and I liked it.

We definitely got our nosh on at Nosh. We tried a few different items. We had a Cheese Plate with a Smokey Bleu Cheese, crackers, grapes, almonds, and pesto. We also had the steak bites, which was a big portion in a bowl of tender, juicy steak pieces. It was highly enjoyable, especially with the cocktail.

We got some bread and butter, too, because, why not? My son also had the Steak Bites, and my other son had a cheese plate from the kid's menu which came with cheese curds, crackers, and salami. My husband ordered the Fish Tacos, and he got the Creamed Spinach soup as his side.

For dinner we shared the Chocolate Lava Cake. It came topped with some Tillamook Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream! Nosh Eatery is one of the best dining destinations in Florence. Just go early for a table, especially on the weekends!

The Dark Cherry Bourbon Renewal cocktail. What a cool glass!

My PB&J cocktail. Highly recommend!

The cheese plate form the kid's menu! Very nice item for a kid's menu.

Having an enjoyable dinner out at Nosh!
