Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

A Party at C & P Coffee Company

My family and I went to my husband's work party at C & P Coffee Company in West Seattle. The company my husband works for was celebrating twenty-five years since they opened. His boss put up a big 25 balloon that was really cute. C & P Coffee Co is a coffee shop during the day, but at night they rent out the space for events.

They had beer, wine, and sodas for us. We had some wine, and we chose a nice, red blend. They also had some appetizers out. There were shrimp skewers and two types of crostini. One had beans and pickled onions, and the other had a light goat cheese with tiny peach pieces.

My husband's boss had the Where Ya At Matt food truck for us. This Seattle food truck serves Creole cuisine. We had their Fried Chicken Po' Boy and it was seriously good. The bread was soft and the chicken was cornmeal breaded. The lettuce, pickles, tomato, and mayo gave it a fresh flavor. But the star for me were the Beignets. There's were large and in charge, soft and pillowy, and covered in powdered sugar. It was hard to stop at one, so we didn't.

A glass of red wine.

The main room when you enter the coffee shop. C & P Coffee Company used to be a house, so there are several rooms to hang out in.

Some wine and appetizers before we grubbed on eats from the Where Ya At Matt food truck.

The large room when you first enter the coffee shop. It's very cozy and the perfect event space!

They have a large garden and hang out space in the backyard.

Some areas for dining in the back of the coffee shop.

Bringing the flavors of New Orleans to Seattle! This was our first time trying the Where Ya At Matt food truck and it didn't disappoint.

The really tasty Fried Chicken Po' Boy. Look at that chicken!

And to end this post on a sweet note, check out the Beignet! Amazing tasting.
