Where to dine and grab dessert in Whitefish, MT
Time for some breakfast for lunch! I had Granny's French Toast Special.
Whitefish, MT has many notable spots to dine, drink, and to treat yourself after doing some hiking and exploring around the Flathead Valley. After doing a short nature hike near Columbia Falls, everyone in my family was super hungry for lunch. We drove the seven miles to Whitefish with my mom driving and me googling a lunch spot for the five of us.
Buffalo Cafe stood out to me, and their menu sounded delicious, with both breakfast and lunch options. They're open for lunch until 2 pm, serving breakfast until then. They're also open for dinner, but they're closed from 2 until 5.
Buffalo Cafe is where the locals go to grub. Since it's summertime in Northwest MT, both visitors and locals alike filled the sidewalk and waited for tables. We waited thirty-five minutes for our table, but the host does get your number and text when your table is ready. This gives you options to walk around downtown Whitefish and check out the shops while you wait.
Needles to say, the whole family was more than ready for lunch by the time we were seated. They serve beer, wine, and brunch mimosas. I chose a Guava Mimosa. They bring you the glass of sparkling wine, along with a bottle of the juice mixture for you to pour in. I decided to go with a breakfast option. I chose Granny's French Toast Special. This came with one piece of French Toast, two pieces of bacon, and scrambled eggs. The French Toast was made with Brioche and was nice and thick, with crispy edges and it tasted so good with some maple syrup.
The rest of the family enjoyed their lunch and everyone polished off their plate. My husband had a Greek Gyro with beef and lamb. The fries that accompanied it were amazing. He drank a Whiskey Peach Cider that tasted crisp and refreshing. My sons had a burger from the kid's menu.
If you're in Whitefish, check out this cafe that's been open since 1979!
