Fun Montana Memories | Summer 2023

A lively time in Columbia Falls at the Gunsight Saloon.

For my last post from our summer MT trip, I thought I'd add some highlights from our visit.

The first night when we arrived, my husband and I left our boys with Grandma and grabbed some groceries and then a drink at Gunsight Saloon. He had a So Beachy and I drank a Huckleberry Sour. In the summer they have live music outside and it really is a vibe.

In the summertime, Columbia Falls has a Sunday Market. We went and got these savory hand pies from Prairie Girl Farms, a local baker in Columbia Falls. She also had some lovely looking pies. They only took cash, so we weren't able to try much, unfortunately. There was also live music and tables selling crafts.

Another spot we like to go is on a nature walk to Ronald H. Buentemeier Educational Tree Farm. This is a short walk with river views and lots of trees. We even found some huckleberries!

It was hot during our visit, but it did rain hard and storm a couple of times. There was lightning and thunderstorms. But with every storm comes a rainbow, and the one we saw was so pretty!

On one of the nights, we had a campfire with s'mores. It was so fun catching up with friends and family around the campfire. And the s'more I had was delicious, too!

We always like visiting the Starbucks by my mom's house. It's a nice Starbucks with a large giftshop. We tried the new frozen pineapple passionfruit lemonade, and it was so refreshing.

We like to visit Woodland Park in Kalispell. They have a nice playground and plenty of green grass and ponds. I've been going to this park my whole life.

For dinner one night, we ate at Moose's Saloon. It was a packed house and where the locals go to hang out in Kalispell. However, we weren't impressed by the pizza and it took a really long time. The beer was cheap though and the floor was covered in sawdust and peanuts. It was really fun! It was also too dark for good food photos, so I'm just posting these from their exterior. I love their old timey saloon doors!

After returning from dinner in Kalispell, we made homemade huckleberry ice cream. Really, my mom did, and we watched. It was so soft, sweet, and tart!

My mom has a large garden and the boys had fun picking raspberries! They picked a lot!

We like to visit Marantette Park in Columbia Falls. They have a nice playground for the kids. This time, I noticed this nice sign and had to snap a pic!

Thanks for following along on my adventures and checking out my MT blogs!
