Dinner at Montana Bonfire in Bigfork and a show at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse
The locally crafted cuisine from Montana Bonfire. Pictured is the Lemon and Fig Burrata and the Coconut Shrimp Curry.
On the last night of our trip in Montana, my mom and I did a girl's night with my aunt and their friend. We went to dinner at Montana Bonfire and then saw a play at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
Montana Bonfire is located in Woods Bay and serves farm to table food. It's the perfect place to gather and dine, while sipping craft cocktails. I started with a Huckleberry Cosmo, and it was made very well with Whistling Andy Huckleberry Vodka. The four of us shared an appetizer. We tried the Bacon Bathed Wild Mushrooms which came with bread for dipping. This was more like a soup, and a little tricky to share, but we made it work.
My mom, aunt, and friend all ordered the Cambodian Coconut Shrimp Curry. This was a spicy dish and they all enjoyed it. I ordered the Lemon and Fig Burrata. The serving was large and filled with fresh summer produce, with figs and Burrata in the center. This dish is a summer lover's dream. It also came with crostini for spreading the cheese and veggies on.
We all wanted something sweet, so we ordered two desserts to share. They actually had Pavlova, an Australian dessert I've never seen anywhere. I finally got to try this light and unique dessert. This one was covered in fresh fruit and lots of yummy lemon curd. This is a meringue-based dessert and we all loved the way it tasted. And what women doesn't love chocolate? We shared the Flourless Chocolate Torte and it was so sinful and rich, yet not too sweet. It was even topped with a Huckleberry compote.
We had such a relaxing and delicious time at Montana Bonfire. After dinner, we drove to downtown Bigfork to watch Jimmy Buffet's Escape to Margaritaville. This was such a wonderful production and so fun and entertaining. They featured seventeen Jimmy Buffet songs in the play. I really enjoyed my experience at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse and will definitely return for more performances in the future. It was such a fun night out with the ladies!
My Huckleberry Cosmopolitan. Such a good, tasty cocktail!
The Flourless Chocolate Torte. Perfect for sharing.
