Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos. Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying. My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again. I happened to be in the U-District getting some work done on my car, so I decided to check out Leon Coffee House. I'd heard fun things about this spot, located next to the Neptune Theater. When my husband and I walked in, the place was lively with students on study breaks from the UW. The aesthetic was on point with pink walls, cute signage, and lots of selfie opts for posting online.

My husband and I got a Nutella Mocha. They do super cute latte art at Leon Coffee House, so I was excited. They also serve you a cookie with your coffee, which was a nice touch. They have an upstairs with seating and lots of tables on the main floor. I had fun posing with the various props.

The coffee tasted rich and just like a Mocha should be. Then we had to quickly finish it when we realized we'd forgotten to purchase parking. They also serve food like cake, waffles, and sandwiches. But people go for the adorable coffee art and overall vibe of the space!
