Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Trying Cereal Killer Cookies

A stack of cookies from Cereal Killer Cookies!

Recently, a local cookie company, Cereal Killer Cookies, in Kirkland, WA reached out to me to see if I wanted to try their cookies. So, they mailed me a box of their yummy cookies! There were four cookies in the box. They're bakery style cookies, which means they're thick, gooey, and definitely sharable.

The company was started by a couple who loves sweets and baking. They got the idea to start a cookie company when they were eating a Fruity Pebbles cookie at a Cubs game in Chicago. They liked to made cookies for their friends and family, who always raved about them. They created a cookie company with everyone's favorite cereals that are "deliciously nostalgic".

The four cookies I got to try were the Reese's Puffs Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, the Lucky Charms Marshmallow, the Cookie Crisp Chocolate Chip, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toffee cookie. All four were delicious and sweet, but my favorite was the first one I tried, the Reese's Puffs Peanut Butter Choc Chip one. The peanut butter smell was heavenly. The cookie was thick and rich and had the perfect balance of peanut butter and chocolate.

The Lucky Charms Marshmallow cookie was chock full of goodness. They got the cookie flavor to match the cereal just right. I don't know how they did that. The Lucky Charms and Marshmallows were soft and gooey, adding lots of texture to the cookie. If you're a texture person, then you'll love these cookies.

The Cookie Crisp Chocolate Chip was the perfect chocolate chip cookie. It was really sweet and chocolaty, just how we all like our chocolate chip cookies to be! The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Toffee cookie smelled like cinnamon and reminded me of Snickerdoodles but with more texture. There was a lot of Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces and toffee pieces.

Since the cookies are so big, I taste tested a quarter of each one. These are rich cookies, so share these with your friends and family! Check out their link above for ordering info and to see more of their flavors. Thank you to Cereal Killer Cookies for sending me these cookies!
