Cheesecake Thumbprint Cookies with Strawberry Jam
These festive-looking holiday cookies only have five ingredients and taste delicious!
Christmastime is here once again! One of the things I like to do during December is bake. I don't make too many items, maybe three or four, one for every week of December. The first thing I made this year were some cookies. I chose to bake Cheesecake Thumbprints and I topped them with some of my mom's homemade strawberry jam. She sent us a jar for my birthday, and I still had some left.
These cookies from bakerbynature.com only have five ingredients. The hardest part about the recipe is just waiting for the butter and cream cheese to soften and then waiting a couple of hours for the dough to chill in the fridge. Otherwise, this recipe is really easy and fun to make. I kept my cookies in the fridge after I made them, but they were a little hard so I then left them out.
These cookies are creamy from the cream cheese and they also taste like butter spritz cookies. They remind me of three desserts: Strawberry Cheesecake, my mom's thumbprint cookies she used to make with nuts, and butter spritz cookies. You can use which ever jam or jelly you wish. The recipe I followed used Raspberry jam. My mom's strawberry jam was perfect for my cookies. She used strawberries from her garden to make her jam. Delicious!

Happy baking and eating!
