A Visit to the Asean Street Food Hall at Westlake Center
Chicken Wings from Hi Fry inside the new Asean Street Food Hall in downtown Seattle.
Westlake Center just got a brand new food hall. Named Asean Street Food Hall, they have cuisine from Southeast Asia. ASEAN stands for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The food hall has food from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. They serve street eats food cart style. When you enter, you have the option of either ordering at a kiosk or going up to the food carts and ordering there. They have a lot of savory options and several sweet options as well. See the link above for their website and more info.
We ordered at the kiosk screen and then waited at a table until they called our name. We ordered some Chicken Pho from Phancy Pho, and my son got Chicken Wings from Hi Fry. The food is really pricey. One bowl of Pho, Vietnamese Noodle Soup, is $18. The wings were $16, which is a lot for wings.
Our food was good. Not $18 good, but it did the job. The chicken was nice and tender and juicy. They had all of the sauces available you'd want with your Pho. The space itself was neat and a nice addition to Westlake Center. The dessert spots like Sweet Moon looked really good and I may have to come back and try it. They have Croffles, Honey Toast, and Parfaits.
I wouldn't recommend dining here because of the high prices for what you get. Maybe just walk through, check out the area, and get a dessert!
