Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Easter Brunch at Bluwater Bistro

The Brioche French Toast at Bluwater Bistro for Easter Brunch.

For Easter Brunch we dined at Bluwater Bistro in the Leschi area of Seattle. We made a reservation and got seated at a booth by the window. We loved the view of Lake Washington, Mt. Rainier, and Bellevue. They also have lots of outdoor seating with heaters. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday with gorgeous tulips in the lobby and on every table. At the hostess stand, there was a huge jar of jelly beans and you could guess how many were in the jar for a chance at a $100 gift card. Maybe I'll win!

I started with a Mimosa and my husband had a Blood Orange Manhattan. They have a kids' menu and my sons had the Grilled Cheese and Chicken Strips. My husband had the Egg Scramble and I had the Brioche French Toast. They had a Grand Marnier batter and were served with maple syrup. It was soft and thick French toast, which is always a treat!

For special holidays, Bluwater Bistro sells custom cookies from a local baker, Batter's Bakery. We bought three Easter themed sugar cookies. I chose an adorable chick. The cookie was buttery and sweet, perfect for the holiday! After eating, we walked around and checked out the views of the lake and Mt. Rainier. Seattle looks beautiful in the springtime!
