Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Happy Hour at Fire and The Feast

A Pepperoni and Fennel Tomato Jam Pizza topped with fresh Burrata from Fire and The Feast in Edmonds, WA.

To celebrate the start of winter break for our sons we headed to Edmonds to dine at Fire and The Feast. When I saw a fellow foodie post about this spot on IG, I immediately made a reservation. Their food looked amazing, plus they offer a daily happy hour. I'm always on the lookout to try new pizza places and their pizza looked delicious. For happy hour, the pizzas are only $11 for a personal sized one. I'm so glad I made a reservation, since they were busy with a one hour wait.

We were seated at a cozy table right by the window. They even have a kids menu, so my sons each ordered a small pizza. One had pepperoni and the other ordered a cheese pizza. My husband and I each started with a cocktail. I had an Aperol Spritz from the HH menu and he had a Fondo Pesante which had Bourbon, pear juice, and orange bitters. We started with a couple of orders of House Focaccia Bread. It came with a Black Olive Tapenade with olive oil and lemon zest. The pieces were nice and thick and the olive tapenade was so fresh and tasty with the bread.

We all had ourselves some pizza! I chose the Pepperoni with Fennel Tomato Jam. You can also add Burrata cheese to any pizza, so I did just that. I'd never tried burrata on my pizza before, and I couldn't wait. Wow! It was a culinary delight. I'd recommend eating pizza this way if you can. My pizza was spicy from the red peppers and then sweet from the tomato jam. It was really heavy, so I saved half for the next day. My husband had the Margherita pizza and ate every bite. Our sons also enjoyed their pizza. The pizzas were wood fired, and you could really taste the quality. Delicious!

Fire and The Feast was such an enjoyable and great tasting place in Edmonds. The service was also top notch!
