Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Dinner at 2120

 The day after Thanksgiving we dined at 2120 in downtown. My husband and I had happy hour there a few years ago and we really liked our experience. This time our family ate in their outdoor area which is covered and heated. I started with a Not a Pear in the World cocktail. It had vodka, pear puree, amaretto, flor de cana 7 year rum, and a cinnamon tincture. My husband had an Old Fashioned. 

We shared the Burrata and some pasta, the Braised Oxtail Pappardelle. Both dishes were tasty and well made. The Burrata was creamy and light and was drizzled with honey. The pasta was tender and tasted handmade. Our boys had fries and Macaroni and Cheese. They really enjoyed both items. 

The interior of 2120 is full of ambiance and is dimly lit. The bar area would be the perfect place for a nightcap. After eating, we went back outside and I took some photos. The Space Needle is all lit up for the holidays. There are some new attractions in SLU like the lit up teetertotters for kids. Our boys had a blast playing on them. They're located right by the Amazon Spheres in the Day 1 Playfield. Called Impulse, this attraction is part of the new SLU After Dark series.
