Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Lunch at The Loft at Latitude Forty Seven Seven in Poulsbo

Some mouthwatering Cilantro-Lime Tacos from The Loft in Poulsbo.

While my family and I were in Poulsbo, WA we dined at The Loft, located on the marina. It was a busy Monday in Poulsbo and we waited about thirty minutes for our table. We gave them my phone number and we were able to explore the town while we waited. They have a nice, sunny patio overlooking the water, but those tables were a longer wait. But we were sat inside with a really nice view of the marina. We had fun watching people doing water sports while we ate. And I got some nice shots, too.

My husband and I started with a cocktail. He chose a Manhattan while I had a Mai Tai. At The Loft they have really cute pirate ships for the kids. Their food is inside the ship and they also get a juice box and fruit snacks. They had the Mac and Cheese and a Grilled Cheese. I wanted tacos, so I ordered the Cilantro-Lime Tacos. These tacos had skirt steak and there was also onions, jalapeños, and fresh pico de gallo. There were two tacos, so it wasn't a huge portion. It was fine for me, but if you're super hungry and want a bang for your buck, I'd wouldn't recommend. I usually like getting big portions because I can save half for the next day. But if I'm traveling, I prefer smaller portions.

My husband went light and had the Thai Chicken Salad. It was really fresh and had a large amount of chicken. There was a really good and tangy Thai Vinaigrette dressing. It had organic greens on a bed of vermicelli noodles, peanuts, and fresh cilantro. The Loft has a good location and friendly service but it does get busy. The prices are also a little high. I was ok with that since I wanted a nice lunch out on our overnight trip.
