Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos. Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying. My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again. Located on Central Ave in downtown Whitefish sits Fleur Bake Shop. If you like French pastries then this spot is a must stop. They also sell espresso drinks to pair with your treat. They sell a wide variety of baked goods, but get there early for the croissants. We arrived around 11:30 and there weren't a ton of options. We still managed to try a few things, though. My son chose a Chocolate Chip cookie. We also tried some Chocolate Macarons and I had a Lavender one. We all shared a Cannele and an Almond Raspberry Cake. I also had an Iced Chai Latte with Oat Milk.

I really liked the look and feel of the shop. The staff was friendly and there was a lot of seating available. This is such a nice addition to downtown Whitefish.

A cute Cannele. A Cannele is a french pastry flavored with rum and vanilla. They have a custard center and a thick, caramelized crust. To make, you use a mold to get those pretty shapes.
