Easter Brunch at Toulouse Petit
An order of Toulouse Beignets with a coffee dipping sauce.
For Easter brunch my family and I made a reservation at Toulouse Petit in Queen Anne. I last ate there in 2013 to check out their happy hour. You can see the post here. They serve Cajun and Creole dishes, highlighting the cuisine of New Orleans.
The four of us were seated at a nice, round booth, and we had plenty of room to spread out. I started with a Mimosa and my husband had a Sazerac cocktail, which is what I had on our prior visit. They have a kid's menu with crayons which was really nice for our sons.
To start, we shared an order of the Beignets. They were hot and crispy and arrived with some coffee flavored sauce. If you aren't a coffee fan, I don't recommend because of the strong coffee flavor. My husband and I are, so we dipped our Beignets happily.
My sons each got a pancake with eggs and sausage. The pancake was huge and in the shape of a bear and covered with powdered sugar and fruit. Yum! I chose the Caramel French toast. I loved the caramel sauce on top of the thick slices of French toast. The fresh strawberries on top were delicious. My husband had the Trout Scramble which he really enjoyed. It came with potatoes which disappeared fast.
I would recommend making reservations right now at restaurants in Seattle if you feel safe dining in. Since they are currently at 50% capacity, they fill up fast. And I don't know about you, but waiting an hour or more for a table isn't my idea of a good time.
