Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

A Stay at the Icicle Village Resort in Leavenworth

During our recent visit to Leavenworth, my family and I stayed at the Icicle Village Resort for one night. I was impressed with the resort and all that it offered. There's lots of amenities, things to do, and its very family friendly. I forgot to take a photo of our room, but it was updated and had everything we needed. Our favorite part of our room was the view of the resort and snowy mountain peaks of the Cascades.

There's a pool, mini golf, a playground, a basketball court, an arcade, and a spa. They also have free parking and free continental breakfast. We ate at the onsite restaurant JJ Hill's Fresh Grill for dinner, see my previous post here, and really enjoyed our experience. They also have suites and condos to rent for longer stays. We liked how close to the main part of town the resort was. The drive was just a couple of minutes away. My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Icicle Village Resort and found it really relaxing and fun!

The pretty view from our room!

Time for some coffee while enjoying the view!

A nice and relaxing common area at the resort. This building is a playhouse, which I believe does shows in the summertime. The last dates are from 2019, maybe pre pandemic? But a pretty building, nonetheless!

Our room didn't have a balcony, so these may be the suites. These rooms look out to the pool and basketballs court. The buildings there are so cute and Bavarian!

They had trees around the resort with Christmas lights. I bet they light these up during the holidays!

This is the mini golf area. We played for a little bit and my son played for the first time. How fun!

I liked the pretty lobby and how the restaurant is just to the right. So convenient!

The arcade room is where you get your puts for mini golf. The mini golf is $12 per person for 18 holes.

We loved the beautiful mountain views during our stay. We decided April is the perfect time to visit Leavenworth because of the snow still on the mountains. I really did feel like a Bavarian Village.

I took this photo at sunrise because that's when my boys woke up. I took a peek out the window, grabbed my camera for this photo, then I went back to sleep.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our stay! This is just one of the many great spots to stay in Leavenworth!
