Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Happy Hour at Wasabi Sushi and Izakaya in Belltown

One of the best happy hours in Belltown can be found at Wasabi Sushi and Izakaya. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, then this spot's for you. They have a full bar and their interior is classy and inviting. My family hadn't gone out for sushi in a long time. A quick Google search found me Wasabi and I made a reservation. Right now, indoor dining in Seattle is open at 25% capacity. But next week, it will be at 50%.

They have a wide variety of options with lots of discounted items for happy hour. I chose a classic California Roll, which was only $8. I also selected some fried Gyozas and Chicken Wings and shared them with my sons. My son wanted some Ramen and they did have a non- spicy one, so it worked out well. My husband ordered the Volcano Roll, which was a vibrant looking roll and tasted nice and spicy like its name suggested!

To drink, we chose some cocktails from the HH menu. I ordered a Tito's Sweet Peach Lemonade and he had an Old Fashioned. Later in the meal, we also tried the Blackberry Margarita. My peach cocktail was really yummy, peachy, and it was nice and strong. The Blackberry Marg was a little too sour for my taste, but my husband enjoyed the flavor.

For dessert, we all shared a piece of the Mango Cheesecake. It was really light and fruity. The texture wasn't like cheesecake, but had more of a sponge cake texture. The strawberry garnish was like edible art and really added to the presentation. Check out this spot in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood if you like Japanese food!
