Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos. Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying. My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again. These days, a walk around downtown Seattle and grabbing a latte, is my big outing for the day. I was intrigued by Joe & the Juice, a cute coffee and fresh juice spot in SLU. I was planning on trying one of their juices, but the afternoon was cold and a coffee sounded like a better plan. They also have locations in Europe and NYC and I liked their pink sign and their aesthetics inside the cafe.

I went with a Vanilla Latte and a mini Carrot Cake. Then I enjoyed my drink and snack outside in front of a neat fountain. The Amazon Spheres are located across the street, so there are plenty of city views to take in, in this area of Seattle. My family and I walked around SLU, getting some fresh air and checking out the new architecture. There are so many new shiny buildings to gaze at and photograph. My coffee was really tasty and the perfect temp. But the Carrot Cake was a little dry. I'm sure their juices are the star of the show at Joe & the Juice.
