Tis' The Season | Downtown Seattle during the holidays and Dinner at Von's 1000 Spirits
One of the things my family loves doing during the holiday season is walking around Downtown Seattle. There are many things to see and special moments to take in. This year is different because of Covid, and the usual holiday events around the downtown aren't happening. But you can still take a stroll around, get some fresh air, and check out the decorations and lights. Downtown Association has still put up the Christmas Tree in front of Westlake Center. We also love the decorations at Westlake Park. And this year, the star on top of the Bon Marche is different. The star turns different colors and it's special to check out.
We also walked down to Pike Place Market and I took some shots of the famous sign. I always like the market's holiday decorations, too. Then we headed to Von's 1000 Spirits to dine in their outdoor area. We were lucky to grab a table for four and that there were heaters. Our view was of the Seattle buildings and the Seattle Art Museum across the street.
I had a fun and unique Magic Mai Tai. It changed colors from the magical ice cube inside the drink. I had fun taking photos of the cocktail changing colors. Then we shared one of their awesome Sourdough Pizzas with Goat Cheese, Pesto, and Sun Dried Tomatoes. We also shared some fries and chicken wings. We always love Von's because of their strong and fun drinks and super tasty food. The service is always chill, too. Von's is a vibe for sure.
Downtown isn't busy at all these days, so social distancing isn't a problem. Parking also isn't a problem. If you're dining outside, bring extra layers. Most places have heaters, but it still can feel pretty chilly in December. It felt nice to get out and get some exercise, take in the holiday decorations, and get our grub on.
