Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Triple Chocolate Muffins for a birthday breakfast

These Triple Chocolate Muffins make the perfect Birthday breakfast!

Birthdays are a great excuse for a sweet breakfast. Since my sons' birthday is coming up, I wanted to bake something yummy for them. Initially I wanted to bake Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread but the store was actually out of canned pumpkin. I guess everyone is baking pumpkin desserts right now! Fall is here, after all.

But chocolate is always a good idea, especially three kinds of chocolate all at once. These muffins use cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and a 4 oz. bar of chocolate. And to make them more moist and soft the recipe also calls for sour cream. I found the recipe on Sally's Baking Addiction. You can find the recipe right here. Now I just have to hope my boys aren't bouncing off the walls after eating these muffins!
