Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. A Visit to TP Tea

A Strawberry Crema Tea with boba pearls from the new TP Tea spot in Seattle's I.D!

A new Boba Tea place recently opened in Chinatown and I couldn't wait to try it. But every time we drove by the store there was a really long line. So I waited for a weekday afternoon and gave it another try. This time there were no lines and only one person waited to order their drink. Perfect timing! TP Tea stands for Taiwan Professional Tea and has been around since 2005. I wondered if the drinks would be worth the hype and I couldn't wait to try one.

There were so many options of drinks and each one sounded better than the last. I finally chose one of their crema drinks since I love a good layer of the salty and sweet cream on top of my boba drinks. It always tastes incredible with tea and boba pearls. I selected the Strawberry Crema Tea and added boba.

The drink was beautiful and was a nicely crafted drink. The red, white, and black colors caught my eye and I couldn't wait to take my first sip. First I tried the yummy crema on top. Then I mixed everything together. Incredible! It tasted just like strawberry cheesecake. This was one of the best boba drinks ever. Now I'll have to return to TP Tea and try some more of their drinks!
