Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Ice Cream and Cocktails at The Stone House Cafe

I loved this Root Beer Float so beary much! How cute is this Root Bear Float from Laina's Ice Cream!

For a fun and delicious summer afternoon treat we checked out The Stone House Cafe. Located along Rainer Ave with views of the water, this tudor-style house turned into a restaurant in 2015. They also serve ice cream from Friday-Sunday from Laina's Ice Cream, which is located inside.

My sons and I got ice cream and my husband ordered a cocktail from the bar. He got a Blackberry Knee High which was sweet and refreshing. This colorful drink had Chambord, Vodka, and Lemon. My sons each got a kid's scoop in a waffle cone. One of my boys had a scoop of Strawberry and the my other son had Cookies and Cream. I was drawn to the Root Bear Float because I love a good Root Beer Float and the bear on top looked really cute.

They have a lot of outdoor seating with views of the water. We took our treats outside and soaked up the sun and atmosphere. My Root Bear Float was really tasty. These remind me of my childhood because we used to enjoy them on occasion as a family. The cute iced bear on top was made out of Root Beer and looked like he was floating and hanging out in my drink. This was a really fun novelty drink to try and really brightened up my summer day!
