Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery in Capital Hill

Time for soft serve! A Pistachio Caramel Corn Sundae from Hot Cakes on Capital Hill.

Seattle is slowly but surely gaining some more spots with soft serve. One place I had to visit because I saw they served it was Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery in Capital Hill. You can get this cold treat either in a cone or in one of their sundaes. I chose their Pistachio Carmel Corn Sundae. Hot Cakes uses organic ingredients and their desserts are outstanding. They even serve a couple of savory dishes and have boozy drinks and a full bar. I've visited their other location in Ballard and tried their Chocolate Molten Cake.

My sundae had vanilla soft serve with dry-burned caramel sauce, caramel corn, and pistachios. The serving was big and piled high with tasty things! The soft serve was really creamy and satisfying, too. My sons each had a cone. One had a plain vanilla and the other had his with chocolate sauce. Hot Cakes is the perfect place to indulge and treat yourself!
