Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos. Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying. My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again. The holiday season in Seattle is quickly approaching and there's many fun and festive events to attend. I wanted to share about an upcoming event at Pyramid Alehouse. They're located on 1st Ave. S. across from T-Mobile Park and just one block south from Century Link Field.

On November 30th from 5-9 pm, they'll be holding a free event with a two-story keg tree. Come and admire this huge tree created from beer kegs, while you try a couple of seasonal beers. The sales of the beer go to Food Lifeline of Western WA and there will also be a $100,000 donation.

Along with the keg tree, there will be Reindeer and Chainsaw Ice Sculpting. In the beer garden, you'll be able to try some wintry brews such as the Snow Cap Winter Ale and a special Gingerbread Stout. That one sounds so good and it will be brewed just for the event. The parking lot will be a converted Winter Wonderland with a six-person Santa's sleigh and a photo contest to win a ski chair.
