Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Dinner at Times Theatre and Public House

Imagine eating dinner in a movie theatre that's also a brewery. Only in Oregon, right? At Times Theatre and Public House in Seaside, this is just what you'll find. And it's even kid friendly. They were closed for thirty years up until last October when it was restored. They have a pub type menu with a full bar. On certain nights, they play movies. When we dined, it was Monday Night Football, so the Green Bay Packers were playing on the big screen. I can't remember who they were playing, but there were some definite fans there wearing cheesehead hats.

The food and drinks were on point. I started with a Jack and Coke. I also had a side salad and some Cheese Curds. My husband had the Fish and Chips. Our sons had Chicken Strips with some homemade potato chips. The chips were really fresh, and nice and thick. The serving sizes were huge, we we brought most of them back to our hotel room to snack on later. My boys and I love our cheese curds, and they were good ones.

Everyone enjoyed their dinner and drinks, and we were able to relax and soak in the ambiance of the lively, theatre setting while the game was on. When we were done eating, we walked upstairs to the balcony part of the theatre to check out the view from above. This is a fun spot to eat and watch a movie or a game in Seaside. What a nice addition to the main strip of places to dine and shop.
