Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Breakfast at Hudson

A warm breakfast for these cold fall days in Seattle! 

The other morning, my husband and I ate breakfast at Hudson. Hudson is located in Georgetown on East Marginal Way S, and is a 21 and over spot. They're right next to the Georgetown Morgue, a haunted house attraction. This restaurant gets packed, especially during the weekends when they serve brunch. We've driven by Hudson hundreds of times over the years and I've always wondered about it.

The inside wasn't fancy at all and felt like a greasy spoon kind of place. Hudson seems like the spot to just grab a quick meal and be on ones way. I'd heard the pancakes were huge, so I just ordered one. They also have veggie sausage, so I added a side of those. My husband is an eggs guy, so he had those with veggie sausage, an English muffin, and hash browns.

The food was good and we particularly liked the veggie sausage. The portions were big, so this a breakfast that will really fill you up so you'll be on your way. When the weather turns colder in the mornings, I like a warm breakfast to start my day.
