Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

  Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. Oasis Tea Zone

 Coffee Milk Tea with Chocolate Cream Cheese Foam and Boba from Oasis Tea Zone in the I.D. 

As an after school treat our family headed to the International District and visited Oasis Tea Zone. We were craving Bubble Waffles, but unfortunately their waffle maker wasn't working. We decided to share an order of fries with ranch. The fries were salty and hot, but the serving of ranch was tiny. To drink, my husband and I had the Coffee Milk Tea with boba. To top mine off, I added a Chocolate Cream Cheese foam which took the drink up a notch. It was rich and creamy. The drinks itself could have been a little colder, since there wasn't any ice. They also only had one size of drinks and didn't ask about ice or the sweetness level like a lot of other boba places do.

Oasis seems like a spot for college kids to hang out, as it was quite busy with students. They have tons of board games and even do bingo some nights. The interior is big with plenty of seating and the space is fun and lively.
