Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

Bhina and Nicholas | An Engagement Ceremony

I recently had the opportunity to photograph an Engagement Ceremony. Bhina and Nicholas met on a plane and had an instant connection. They knew they wanted to see each other again so they met up in Seattle, where he lives. However, Bhina's from New Delhi, India. They began a long distance relationship and Nicholas even visited her in India. Now the happy couple is engaged and she's planning on moving to Seattle.

There's many traditions and events for an Indian Wedding. Before their big day in India in January, they had a Ring Ceremony, or Engagement Ceremony here in Seattle. Bhina's family flew over from India and a lot of Nicholas's family attended. The event was held in his mom's backyard which was just right for the ceremony. The couple first exchanged rings with their family and friends looking on, and afterwards I took some portraits of them. Then everyone ate some traditional Indian food, which looked and smelled delicious. There were also toasts and music for the couple. To end the event, guests enjoyed Angle Food Cake with fresh fruit.

Bhina and Nicholas radiated joy and you could see the excitement on their faces. They were so happy to celebrate getting engaged with their close family and friends. They're future is bright and they'll live happily ever after on the same continent.
