Lunch at Goddess and The Baker

While in Chicago, we had a quick lunch at Goddess and The Baker. We were heading to check out the Art Institute of Chicago and luckily for us, the restaurant was really close by. I spotted their pretty rainbow cake online and it looked too good to pass up. When we walked in, we were greeted by a huge display case of pastries. There was anything and everything and my sons were quick to pick out what they wanted. The display was so inviting, colorful, and most importantly-everything looked tasty!

I did indeed order a piece of the rainbow cake and I also got some Avocado Toast. To drink, my husband and I shared the Kale Apple Cooler. This juice had kale, Fuji apple, cucumber, and lemon. It was topped off with a fresh flower and looked amazing. The cake was really sweet and rich and the frosting was thick. The cake itself was soft and there were so many colorful layers. The slice was so big, so I couldn't finish it all. The serving of Avocado Toast was also large and the avocado layer was really piled on high. There was a ton of arugula on top, and while delicious and fresh, it was difficult to eat.

I loved this cute cafe and the people working there were helpful and nice. There was a laid back vibe, with long communal tables. I was impressed by the quality of the eats and the fresh juice. And if this spot isn't Instagram worthy, I don't know what is.
