Lunch at Giordano's in Chicago

My family and I just spent four days in Chicago. It was a dream trip for me, a place I've always wanted to visit. From the architecture, all of the attractions, and the amazing eats, it really was the place to be. 

When I think of Chicago, deep dish pizza comes to mind. So on our first full day, we visited Giordano's for their Famous Stuffed Deep Dish. 

They've been serving their pizza for forty years in Chicago and are always making the "Best Pizza in Chicago" lists. The slices are really thick and after one slice, you'll be full. They have a lunch special that includes a personal size pizza and a side salad for $9.95, and that deal seemed way too good to pass up. I chose a Pepperoni Pizza with a salad and the size was perfect. The pieces were small, but thick and full of cheese! I managed to eat three of the four slices, and I took the last piece back to our hotel room and had it the next day. The pizza was way good. I loved all of the cheese and the sauce on top. 

The regular size pizzas take forty five minutes to bake, so ordering the personal size was perfect because I was really hungry. The server informed me that they make the personal pizzas in the morning and reheat them later, so they're not as fresh as the bigger pizzas. But man, with little kids going crazy at the table, the personal pizza that didn't take as long and wasn't so massive was great for me. I couldn't tell at all that my pizza was made that morning. It tasted as delish and fresh as could be. I love me some Chicago deep dish and I'm still thinking about that pizza. 

The day was also really sunny and hot, and we kept getting lost trying to find places. By the time we were seated at Giordano's, a glass of Rose was just the thing to refresh me. My husband chose a Long Island Ice Tea and a Caesar Salad. And our boys had the Wisconsin Cheese Curds with Ranch. 

I've eaten Chicago style pizza before but it was so fun to actually eat it in Chicago.
