Dinner at Pizzeria Pulcinella
For some authentic Neapolitan pizza we checked out Pizzeria Pulcinella in Seattle's Rainier Beach neighborhood. You know a restaurant is good when you feel transported to Naples. All you need at this spot is a good glass of wine, good company, and some incredible pizza.
I love pizza and I appreciate all the styles. I can't choose a favorite and luckily, I don't have to. I appreciate and love having Neapolitan pizza because the ingredients are simple, yet the flavors make my taste buds dance. Its nice and thin, really fresh, and a little on the lighter side, because less cheese is used.
The Margherita Pizza we shared was simple perfect to me. The fresh basil gave the pizza so much flavor and was just the right accompaniment to the mozzarella and sauce. The glass of red wine paired so well with the pizza. To start, we also had Focaccia bread with olive oil and Parmesan. And we also shared one of the salad specials of the night, an awesome Pear and Gorgonzola salad. Every bite was better than the next and I loved all of it. The pears were nice and crisp, and the walnuts and cheese were so good.
Pizzeria Pulcinella is such a cute spot. The historic building is charming and fun, but the food is really the star of the show here.
