A White Sox Game at Guaranteed Rate Field

While in Chicago, we went to a White Sox baseball game at Guaranteed Rate Field. It was really easy to get to the stadium from our hotel in the Loop area of downtown. We took the L Train and the ride was only about fifteen minutes. Then we got off the train right across the street. I loved the White Sox logo everywhere and it was even free T-shirt night. That night the Sox were playing the Toronto Blue Jays.

We arrived early because we were planning on leaving long before the game ended. With young kids, we didn't want to stay out too late since the game wasn't going to end until around 10 pm. The seats were pretty empty right until the game started. We walked around a little and then got some food. My husband got a cold beer and we had hot dogs and cheese pizza.

For dessert, I walked around a bit to find the soft serve ice cream served in a souvenir hat. Luckily I didn't have to walk too far before I found it. The dessert was perfect for the ball park and tasted delicious, too. Right when I was eating it, some fireworks went off. It was the perfect moment. Ice cream, fireworks, and baseball. Oh yeah. We left soon after that, but the White Sox ended up winning the game.
