Happy Hour and Dessert in Capitol Hill

Happy Hour Street Tacos with Carne Asada and a Miami Vice from Poquitos.  Poquitos is located in Capitol Hill and they're serving up authentic Mexican cuisine and cocktails. Their happy hour deal is a good one- during Ocho hour, everything on the happy hour menu is just $8! I went with a Miami Vice, a classic Pina Colada with Strawberry. This blended cocktail was so fruity and delicious. To eat I had two Carne Asada Street Tacos and a Birria Poquitos Burrito. The Burrito was small and served with a side of Consommé sauce. Both food items were tasty and satisfying.  My husband also had some Street Tacos and a Margarita from the happy hour menu. My sons had a Cheese Quesadilla and beans and rice. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. I first visited Poquitos in 2012, also for happy hour, and I remembered liking it then, too. It was time for a meal there again.  For dessert, we walked about ten minutes west to  Voodoo Doughnut . The Seattle location opened late last ye...

A Senior Portrait Session at Redondo Beach

Last Saturday I did a Senior Portrait session at Redondo Beach. This park and beach community is located in Des Moines, Washington. Our Senior, Rachel, wanted water for the background. She also wanted the weather to be sunny and bright because she wanted a nice blue sky behind her. The day before the scheduled session the weather called for rain so we crossed our fingers and rescheduled. Several days before the shoot, we checked the weather and luckily for us, the day was going to be warm and sunny. October here in the Seattle area has been beautiful and pretty warm, and none of us want it to end.

Rachel is on the swim team and does gymnastics, so we were able to incorporate that into her photos. Redondo Beach has plenty of backgrounds for photos and we utilized them all. The beach is gorgeous, with plenty of sand and crashing waves. There also a long dock that lends plenty of photo opportunities. We also used the large grassy area complete with a gazebo and plenty of trees.

I'm always on the lookout for locations for portraits and Redondo Beach turned out to be a good one. Rachel did a great job posing for her photos. I can tell she's on her way to having an incredible future!
